Looking to discover a new favourite detective?

Here are the first two books of a series I became hooked on. Set in the decadent and menacing world of 1930's Berlin, Inspector Gereon Rath steers a perilous path between his police and political masters and links with the underworld. Hints at a potential future romantic element come from Charlotte, a 'flapper' who in later books becomes the first female detective in the Berlin police. These were made into a successful TV series.
